Hope Alexander, C.T.A.C.C.

Because of my unusual background and the variety of life adventures I’ve been lucky enough to experience, I feel as though I have been traveling towards the profession of Life Coaching for a VERY long time!

I was born into a theatrical family in San Francisco, CA. and spent the better part of my life in The Bay Area. I followed in my mother’s footsteps and became an actress. At the age of 15 I was invited to become the youngest apprentice ever accepted at the prestigious San Francisco Actor’s Workshop. As an actor I have been a leading company member of The American Conservatory Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, The Actor’s Theatre of Louisville and South Coast Repertory Theatre. I have also been a series regular on two television series (The New W.K.R.P. in Cincinnati and Mystery of Black Rose Castle) and have appeared in quite a few movies you can catch on late night TV! I also did a National Tour starring opposite Sir Michael Redgrave in an evening of Shakespeare called Shakespeare's People. As an award-winning theatre director, I have directed over 80 plays which have taken me from Costa Mesa, Ca. to Paris, France, many of them World Premieres!

My work in the arts necessitated learning about human behavior and I bring all that I discovered, and continue to discover, about the fragility and strength of the human condition into my coaching collaborations!

As a business woman I have served as a Producing Artistic Director and a CEO creating three of my own companies, The Company Rep, OmniArt Productions, Inc and The Bay Area Actor's Lab Theatre School. The creation of these companies involved forming and maintaining fund-raising Boards of Directors and managing staff; so I am aware of the challenges of both the business and artistic worlds.

I have been a teacher for over 30 years and have been lucky enough to have taught all over the world. In addition to teaching acting, directing and script analysis, I teach public speaking for the non-actor.  I have taught at: The University of Southern California, The American Conservatory Theatre, The Drama Studio of London at Berkeley, CalArts, Bradley University in Peoria, Mills College (Lucy Stern Professorship) and The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and . The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, Ca.

I am an honoree in both Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Women.

In my personal life I am the single mother of a loving, funny, remarkable grown son, the happy mother-in-law of the world’s best daughter-in-law and the grandmother of the most amazing grandson on earth! I was the primary caregiver to both my parents and grandmother as they grew old and crossed over, as well as being the primary caregiver to many friends who also made the journey ‘Home’.

I am a recovering drug addict/alcoholic with over two decades of sobriety.

Although I am interested in all aspects of Life Coaching a few of my specific areas of focus are:

  • Boomers in Transition – Re-imagine/Re-invent!
  • Surviving and THRIVING in your Empty Nest!
  • Reclaiming Your Life in Recovery
  • Performing Artists  - Staying Creative
  • Single Parenting – How to Thrive on Your Own
  • A Guide for Women “NO I CAN'T-ERS”!
